Compass Teachers. Creating compassionate teachers through nonviolent communication

2015
van Luttervelt, Djamo
Professionele bachelor in het onderwijs: secundair onderwijs

Abstract :
This study is to investigate in which ways Nonviolent Communication (NVC) can contribute to conflicts that arise in educational situations; more specifically between parents and teachers. NVC is a method of communication that can resolve conflicts without compromising any of the involved parties’ wishes.

Teaching NVC to (future) teachers gives them the chance to not only study NVC, but also use it in their daily lives and careers. For this purpose, this project has produced workshops that can be organised separately or can be incorporated into generic methodology courses of teacher training programs.
